Dr. Ethan Platt has been practicing at ENT Specialties, P.C. as an audiologist specializing in person-centered care beginning in early 2026. He received his undergraduate degree in music with a minor in theatre in 2014 from Emporia State University in Emporia, KS, followed by a post-bachelorette research year, focusing on speech perception, at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS, before graduating in 2020 from the clinical audiology doctoral program at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
His prior experience is diverse and began within pediatrics, previously working at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO, serving patients from birth to age 22, including within specific patient populations including 22q deletion spectrum disorders, autism spectrum disorders and trisomy 21. His rehabilitative focus was within bone conduction hearing systems, being a member of the bone conduction and single-sided deafness working group. Moving up to Omaha in 2024 to pursue a career in translational research at Boys Town National Research Hospital, his focus shifted away from direct patient care before returning to diagnostic audiology, performing Compensation and Pension exams as a contracted audiologist.
Dr. Platt’s primary clinical interests include pediatric and adult amplification and rehabilitation, tinnitus evaluation and management, and implantable technologies for treatment of hearing loss. He specializes in evidence-based, person-centered care including use of objective measures throughout the aural rehabilitation process, such as real-ear measurements and qualitative data.
Outside of clinical work, Dr. Platt is currently serving as the chairman for the Inclusive Engagement committee of the American Academy of Audiology, a position he has held since 2024, as well as serving as a member of the Governance Council, Foundation Scholarship Review Task Force, and 2027 Featured Session Planning Subcommittee. He is also currently a primary writer and reviewer of the General Audiology Board Certification Development Task Force for the new board certification exam.
Dr. Platt received the Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2020 as well as holding his ABA Board Certification and Pediatric Audiology Board Certification from the American Board of Audiology, which he received in 2021 and 2024 respectively. He is currently a professional member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Nebraska Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Platt enjoys spending time with his partner and friends, hosting and attending board game nights, as well as traveling as much as possible.
